Meet the Organizers: Dave Feltham

This week, we’re happy to introduce the third and final new member of our team, Dave Feltham!

Dave

1. My day job is…

I am a Video Game Designer at BioWare

2. Why did you decide to get involved in What the Truck?!

I am a hobbyist chef and am thrilled with the advent of Food Trucks in Edmonton. I’ve been impressed with What the Truck’s dedication to promoting our growing group of trucks in Edmonton and wanted to help any way I could.

3. What is one of your favourite local food truck item?

I love the Pork Belly sandwich from drift, but I’m also a huge fan of the Yorkshire Puddings stuffed with roast beef and gravy from knosh: makes me think of home.

4. What is one type of food truck cuisine you’d like to see served curbside in Edmonton?

I’d love to see a good Mexican Taco truck here, but I love the crazy, non-sequitur trucks that follow their own rules. That’s when you see some ingenious creations that tantalize the foodies in all of us.

5. What about the food truck scene are you most looking forward to in 2014?

I love getting out to these events with my camera and feeling the energy of the events. Each event is different and provide unique opportunities for photos: for example Winston Churchill Square was a buzz of activity while Louise McKinney park was a bit more serene. My hope is to have more time to talk to everyone there, from the uninitiated to the veterans, the truck chefs and the DJs, to get a real sense of the community that is springing up from the food truck phenomenon in Edmonton. But most of all I’m excited to be a part of this amazing team and to make Mack and Sharon laugh at ALL my jokes.
